PASSAGE volume 1 presents vocal interpretations of standards Tempis Fugit, I Remember Clifford and Conversation with a Baby.
Adam Zagajewski's poem Try to Praise the Mutilated World, sung as a threnody, is the central theme from a collection of pieces entitled
Suite Praise. Basstones and Jump, piano movements from Suite Praise are also on volume 1. Water and Oiseaux are free piano improvisations. Original vocals include Everybody, a melody about love; Beatin' the Blues which speaks to the undeniable human connection - the heartbeat;
Los Poetas - a children's song in Spanish, honoring the open minds of poets and La Vie, a simple French tune about living. Mostly first takes, all live, unedited.

PASSAGE volume 2 is a collection of solo piano improvisations that are related to volume 1, though not dependent. The opening tracks set a tone for the unexpected. Contrasting pieces gradually shift moods and tempi. Many pieces on the disc are presented as they evolved in real time at the studio. This gives an intimate sense of Driscoll's musical rhythm within free improvisation. Tonight is a quiet moment. Vari 3, 4, 5 are based on the composition Oiseaux, improvised on volume 1. Evening, Downtown and In a Taxi are from the Suite Praise. Music is live, unedited, first takes.

INSIDE OUT is a 2004 instrumental reunion featuring Mary Anne with percussionist Paul Murphy, reflecting their musical association over the last 30 years. Driscoll wrote the compositions. Murphy said it was his best playing ever as the energy grew in precision and intensity throughout the day. This disc also features Mary Anne as a soloist on three tracks. This is a CIMP production: live, unedited, all first takes.

RED SNAPPER is a 1982 recording of duos and trios from CBS released through Cadence Historical in 2003. It features Jimmy Lyons, Dewey Johnson and Karen Borca in different combinations with Driscoll and/or Murphy. Driscoll is at her best on a vocal with Jimmy Lyons, in a duo with Karen Borca and trios with Dewey Johnson and Paul. Half of the disc is dedicated to a fantastic series of duos with Jimmy and Paul. Engineers Harold Cohen and Stan Tonkel gave this remarkable session wings with their extraordinary attention. All first takes, live.

CLOUDBURST is a live session from 1983 featuring the same personnel as RED SNAPPER in full quintet performance. CBS closed and the group moved to RCA. Award winning engineer Paul Goodman met the challenge of his first new music ensemble, which he described as "a wall of sound." Jimmy Lyons, Dewey Johnson, Karen Borca and Mary Anne weaving lines against Paul Murphy's percussive commentary creates a dramatic musical event. Mary Anne leads Voices, using only tones with her singing. Mastered at RCA, Teldec vinyl. All first takes, live, unedited.
IN A DREAM STREAM recorded in 1981 is Mary Anne Driscoll's first duo recording at CBS in New York with Paul Murphy, made in less than four hours, including set up. The session is all original material with Driscoll's use of conventional harmonies on vocals and free improvisation that goes to the edge of the spectrum in duos with Murphy. Mastered at CBS, Teldec vinyl. Live, no edits.
